| Abstract | This study examines the factors influencing academic achievement among undergraduate students. Academic performance is measured using the total percentage of marks obtained in each semester. The analysis is based on primary survey data collected from colleges in West Bengal, India. The study assesses the academic performance among undergraduate students from different socio economic backgrounds using one-way ANOVA technique. Another important objective of the study is to evaluate the association between the academic performance and its determinants using logistic regression. Academic performance is considered as dichotomous variable in this study. The findings suggest that the likelihood of attaining strong academic outcomes increases for students who work hard, utilize their study time efficiently, own personal digital devices, attend classes regularly, and have mothers with at least a secondary level of education. Moreover, the findings highlight the importance of access to learning resources, parental education, and effective study behaviours in shaping student achievement. The results provide useful insights for policymakers and educational institutions seeking to enhance student success to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all. |
