Abstract

The present investigation uses secondary data analysis to explore the value of tourism to Uttar Pradesh's economy from 2019 to 2025. In light of the state's key religious, cultural, and historic attractions, particularly Ayodhya, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Mathura, Vrindavan, Agra, Sarnath, and Kushinagar, tourism in Uttar Pradesh has advanced significantly. The growing importance of tourists, their economic influence, legislation assistance, infrastructure development, and the key challenges impacting the travel and tourism industry are all considered in this work. Based to the analysis, Uttar Pradesh had a substantial tourism framework before to the pandemic, observed a sharp decrease in 2020, gradually recovered in 2021 and 2022, and then showed rapid growth in a period of 2023–2025 with strong support from pilgrimage tourism and massive religious events. The state's employment, local businesses, accommodations, transportation, handicrafts, and urban infrastructure have all flourished from tourism. Based to the study's conclusion, tourism continues to be a major contributor of Uttar Pradesh's economic success, but expanding it would need enhanced planning, sustainability, and a wider regional equilibrium.
